Revolutionizing Data Management for Mission-Driven Professionals in the Outdoors.
Codifi is a groundbreaking platform designed to empower mission-driven professionals in outdoor industries to influence positive change while promoting repeatable profitability on their projects. The project revolves around creating a robust and flexible software solution that addresses the unique challenges faced by professionals working in diverse and adverse environmental conditions.
Goals
Develop a versatile software platform tailored to the needs of mission-driven outdoor professionals.
Enable efficient, paperless field data management that adapts to evolving project requirements.
Foster data quality and consistency while producing results in various stakeholder and agency-required formats.
Ensure offline functionality to accommodate remote and challenging working environments.
The Team
The product team was composed by the Head of Product, two business analysts and me as the Principal UX Designer. The product team collaborated to the Head of Innovation and the COO to make sure the user experience design was aligned with the strategic vision of the product.
My Role
Worked closely with the Head of Product, Head of Innovation, COO and Head of Engineering to define the design strategy for the product.
Successfully collaborated with cross-functional teams to prioritize features and streamline the product design process in order to meet the goal of shipping the MVP on time and within budget.
Owned the entire design process, from initial research to final product delivery. Touching all aspects of the design process, including ideation, analysis, wireframes, and prototyping.
Developed and established a comprehensive design system for web and mobile, including design guidelines, a design language, and reusable components, which resulted in improved efficiency, usability, consistency, scalability and faster design iterations.

Brand Assessment
In designing the Codifi app, syncing brand identity with user experience was a top priority. I ran workshops with Codifi's founding team to unearth the core brand values and defining characteristics. Coupled with a deep dive into the brand identity document crafted by a specialized agency, I gained crucial insights into various visual and tonal elements, ranging from color choices to typographic styles. Armed with this understanding, I crafted a unified visual language for the app, intertwining Codifi's unique essence at every user interaction point. This holistic approach not only elevated the app's functionality but also captured Codifi's authentic brand voice in the digital realm.
Design System
For Codifi, I crafted a design system that melded consistency with platform-specific optimization. While ensuring a unified brand presence, I also delved into the unique capabilities and constraints of web and mobile platforms, tailoring experiences for each. This design system became a beacon for our expanding design team, guaranteeing uniformity in design deliverables and fostering a consistently superior user experience across devices.
Prototyping
Once the user journeys were defined, I worked on initial wireframes to try out different approaches. For 2 to 3 of them I created clickable prototypes so that the specific process could be tested early by the busines users. That way we could iterate and improve designs before presenting them to business stakeholders and then share them to the development team.
Key Results
Achieved a 84% score that placed us within the Top 5 of apps within the Firm. Increased team’s collaboration and communication resulting in ~2 hours less spent on back and forths. Increased team’s efficiency by reducing ~5 hours of work per week. Increased app usage and adoption by 20%. Reduced 90% the need of Training Sessions.
